Total employment rate in Oman for Q3, 2023 is 87%

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour said that 30,464 new job opportunities were created until the third quarter of 2032, which is 87 percent of the total employment opportunities (35,000 ) targeted for the period.


Overall, 57, 153 job opportunities were created which included 26,689 people who were previously employed.


The figures included the results of employment plans for those included in the recruitment/replacement plans.


For the government sector, the ministry employed 13,050 exceeding the target number of 10,000 set by the ministry.


On the other hand, the ministry employed 11,165 in the private sector against the target of 16,000.


As for the on-the-job training in the government sector, the ministry set a number of 2,000, of which 1,461 was achieved.


In the private sector, the number of targets reached 7,000, of which 1,614 were in the field of self-employment.


The ministry said it accords utmost importance to creating employment opportunities in the public and private sectors.
