MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and the Royal Oman Police, took action against some expatriate workers who were deployed in violation of the Labour Law.

Click here In a statement, Muscat Municipality said, "In the context of preserving the health of consumers, ensuring food safety, regulating the activities of street vendors, and supporting Omani youth who practice these activities, Muscat Municipality launched a campaign in cooperation with the concerned authorities."
Muscat Municipality called on everyone to adhere to the requirements, controls, and laws that regulate the street businesses.
In 2016, the government issued a decision that said only Omanis could be in the street business. Vendors are required to register their vehicles and other equipment required for the business.
The Muscat Municipality has issued a tender to allocate parking places for food trucks as part of its ambitious vision of ‘a sustainable, prosperous, vibrant Muscat’ by providing all the basic capabilities related to protecting public health, the environment, and the cultural face of the governorate.
