DOHA: Oman playmaker Salah al Yahyaei promised to put up a great performance in the Red Warriors last group match as the players pledged to please Omani fans in the deciding match against the Kyrgyzstan team on Thursday.
The match will be held at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, within third round of Group F.
Al Yahyaei said, "We are determined to make up for the lost points against a stubborn Kyrgyzstan team. We performed well in the Thailand match, but we encountered bad luck. But in any case we turned the Thailand page, our full focus is now on Kyrgyzstan match, seeking to reach the next round."
"We offer our apologies to the loyal fans for the outcome of Thailand match. We promise best show against Kyrgyzstan," the midfielder concluded.
Oman national team captain and midfielder Harib al Saadi, explained, "We suffered in Thailand match, as we had some opportunities, but we lacked focus on the decisive final touch in front of the goal. Of course, we do not want to waste opportunities, and the attackers tried hard to score into the opponent's net, but they encountered bad luck. There is still hope, we appeal to Oman loyal fans to back us in the Kyrgyzstan match."
"This is kind of similar scenario to previous edition, UAE 2019. In the last match, we succeeded to win 3-1 over Turkmenistan to pass to the last 16. We aspire to repeat it in the Kyrgyzstan match," he concluded.
Red Warriors coach Branko Ivankovic will hold a press conference on Wednesday at the AFC media centre, to talk about the final preparations ahead of the decisive match against Kyrgyzstan.
