Muscat: The Oman Society for Human Resources Management (OSHRM), in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, will organise the annual conference (HR-X) from February 11-14 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, with a special focus on the Artificial Intelligence, its ethics, and impact on jobs in the future, and digital transformation among others.


The conference, through workshops and dialogue sessions, will focus on important topics, including the latest transformations in the field of business and provide everyone with an opportunity to converge on ideas.


The conference will witness the holding of dialogue sessions with experts, academics, and authors in the human resources sector, to review rich experiences in terms of presenting theses and topics that enrich the content, whether on a professional or scientific level.


Dr Ghalib bin Saif al Hosni, chairman, of OSHRM, said that the holding of this conference comes at a time when the Sultanate of Oman is witnessing radical transformations in the human resources sector, keeping pace with the changes happening in the world.


Meanwhile, Ashraf al Maamari, acting CEO of OQ, said that this seventh annual OSHRM conference, (Moving Towards the Future of Work), is the largest gathering of human resources experts at the local and international levels, and is part of OQ’s social responsibility and reflects the extent of its commitment to society by contributing to development.


Around 64 speakers from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman will participate in the conference, including those from STC, SHRM, Microsoft, Gartner, Google, Linkedin, London Business School, Etisalat, Riyadh Municipality, Saudi Sports for All Federation, and other companies. An exhibition will be held with the participation of local and international companies specialised in providing various solutions in the field of artificial intelligence in general and in human resources in particular.


Maryam bint Khalifa al Amriyah, a member of the Board of Directors, OSHRM, said that awards will be presented across five sectors (both private and government for HR Innovation, Digital Transformation Award, Work Health, and Well-being, Small and Medium Enterprises, Excellence in Human Resources, Human Resources Management Award for the best organisation led by a woman, the best academic research in the human resources sector, individual awards, the Best CEO, and the best human resources management team in organisations.


The number of applicants for the awards is 42, and the number of institutions that applied is 32, and the award announcement ceremony will be on February 12.
