Khasab Port receives over 76,000 cruise tourists

Muscat - Khasab Port in Musandam Governorate received 76,156 tourists from 52 ships during the 2023 cruise season.


The port attracted major cruise ships as underwent new expansions, which included the addition of a main breakwater, commercial berths, and the deepening of the port basin to accommodate the increasing traffic.


Maryam bint Mohammed al Shehiya, Head of the Tourism Promotion Department at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Musandam, said that the port receives cruise ships with many tourists on board from different countries."


She added that the port has allocated marketing outlets for families to display and sell their products to tourists arriving via cruise ships, apart from hosting events, activities, and festivals held in the governorate.
