JSIS to be the Official Partner of FIH Hockey5s World Cup

MUSCAT: Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel (JSIS), the largest privately owned integrated steel producer in the GCC region, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup Oman 2024 in collaboration with Oman Hockey Association (OHA).


FIH Hockey5s World Cup Oman 2024, organized by the International Hockey Federation, marks the debut of this premier international hockey event and will be held from January 24 to 31 in Muscat. The highly anticipated FIH Hockey5s World Cup will see 16 men's and women's teams from around the world vying to become the first-ever World Champions of the event.


Harssha Shetty, CEO of JSIS, and Dr Marwan Bin Jumaa Al Jumaa, Chairman of the OHA, signed the sponsorship agreement in the presence of HE Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, the Governor of Al Batinah North Governorate, and other dignitaries during a ceremony held in Sohar.


This exciting partnership reflects JSIS's commitment to supporting the nation's sports ecosystem and creating a lasting legacy for hockey development in Oman.

“This agreement comes as a culmination of the OHA directions towards serving the progress of the Hockey in the Sultanate of Oman. Meanwhile, this significant tip-up will cover also providing support for the national Men’s and Women’s teams which will represent the nation in the 2024 FIH Hockey 5s World Cup in Muscat few days later. Furthermore, Oman Hockey Association will look to strengthen the relationship with the private sector to execute better success including development coaches, players, referees and administrators and improve the technical levels of the sport,” he ended
