Muscat: As we look ahead to the rest of the year, here is the schedule of public holidays for 2024.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Royal Decree No 88/2022, promulgated on December 7, 2022, has established the following dates as official holidays:


The first public holiday of the year 2024, will commence with His Majesty the Sultan’s Accession Day on January 11th.


This will be followed by the observance of Al Isra’a Wal Miraj on Rajab 27, with the expected Gregorian date to fall around 8 February.


The festive end to Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr, is anticipated to be around April 9th, marking the 29th day of Ramadan.


The sacred Eid Al Adha is projected to start on Dhul-Hijjah 9 and conclude on the 12th of the same month, with expected dates from June 16 to 19 June.


The Hijri New Year’s Day, marking the 1st of Muharram is anticipated to commence on the evening of July 8th.


The Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday will be celebrated on Rabee Al Awwal 12, which is expected to fall on September 16.


Finally, the National Day holidays will be observed on November 18th and 19th.


It is important to note that if any of these designated holidays align with weekends, an additional day off will be granted as compensation. Furthermore, the dates listed are subject to modification should the public interest necessitate such changes.
