Officials moot Oman's State Budget for 2024

Muscat: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) convened on Monday a press conference to highlight the State’s General Budget for the year 2024.


According to Abdullah Salim al Harthy, MoF Undersecretary, estimations of the public revenues are set as part of the precautionary approaches taken to reduce the burden of any financial challenges that may arise during the fiscal year 2024.

Speaking about promotions, the undersecretary said a total amount of RO60 mn have been allocated for the promotions of the employees of 2013 and 2014, which cover nearly 52,000 employees, noting that employees of 2013 seniority will be promoted from tomorrow, while employees of 2014 seniority will be promoted starting next July.

According to the ministry, the 2024 budget aims to improve the business environment, expand the private sector’s participation in economic development, and support the social aspect by empowering the Social Protection Fund and maintaining the level of spending in basic services such as education, health, and housing.


“Employment in the government sector is based on the natural growth of projects and replacement, noting that RO36 mn have been allocated for the on-the-job training programmes”, he affirmed.
