

MUSCAT: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise the Oman-India Investment Forum on January 20, 2024, to be held alongside the International Accountants Conference.
Dr Abdullah bin Masoud al Harthy, a board member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the forum comes as a result of the strong historical ties between Oman and India, which have been further strengthened by the recent visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to India. During the visit, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, had important meetings with Indian leaders and businessmen, where the future stage of economic integration between the two countries, as well as strengthening trade and investment between them, were discussed. The forum aims to align with Oman Vision 2040 and the Amrit Kal Initiative to sustain growth and prosperity.
Dr Al Harthy pointed out that the forum is part of the strategic objectives of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which aims to contribute to expanding the economic diversification and improving the business environment in the Sultanate of Oman. The event will provide a platform for Omani and Indian companies to explore investment opportunities in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, healthcare, and tourism. In addition, it will highlight specific projects and initiatives, foster discussions on innovation, technology transfer, collaboration in emerging sectors, and emphasize knowledge exchange and industrial best practices.
The forum will feature working papers presented by experienced professionals from key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, healthcare, tourism, and manufacturing. Representatives from trade unions, business chambers, and industry groups will also participate.
Discussions at the forum will include prospects for cooperation and partnerships between entrepreneurs and representatives of startups in both countries, as well as the latest trends, collaboration opportunities, and investments in the fields of technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
The forum will also address trade policies, customs tariffs, and border facilitation measures with the aim of creating a favorable environment for communication, relationship building, and highlighting successful cooperation and investment stories between Oman and India to inspire confidence in investors.
