Mohammed al Saedi wins 100 km endurance race

Mohammed bin Said al Saedi claimed title in the 100 km local endurance race organised by the Oman Equestrian Federation at the Al Mohammed Endurance Village track in Barka with the participation of 52 horses.


HH Sayyid Munther bin Saif al Busaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation, was the chief guest, in presence of HH Sayyid Saud bin Harib al Said, Member of the Federation’s Board of Directors.


The competition started with a veterinary examination one day before the race to ensure their safety and readiness.


The event included 100 km with one-star rating and 120 km with two-star, under the supervision of the International Equestrian Federation in addition to two qualifying races of 40 km and 80 km.

With good competition among 52 horses, 8 horses were able to reach the finish line, where the 100 km race title was won by horse 'Ankara', rode by Mohammed bin Said al Saedi and trained by Hamad bin Said al Saedi, owned by Muscat Stud. 'Marquez Royal Flyer' claimed the second place, rode by Sheikha bint Mohammed al Rawahiya, trained by Mohammed bin Hamoud al Balushi and owned by Rakan Stables. 'MA Radimir' finished third, rode by Mohammed bin Issa al Balushi and trained by Muhannad bin Ibrahim al Balushi of the Sultanate Stud.
