On December 14th, the Minister of Finance for Oman, Sultan bin Salem Al Habsi, warmly welcomed Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, during an official meeting in Muscat.


The discussions centered around Oman's ambitious Vision 2040, its objectives, and the national programs designed to attain them. The two sides also delved into Oman's successful strategies for navigating financial crises, reducing public debt, and effectively managing financial risks. A detailed visual presentation highlighted Oman's journey towards financial sustainability and the progressive development of its financial sector, showcasing initiatives initiated under the Financial Balance Plan.


The agenda further extended to matters of mutual interest within the Gulf Cooperation Council, as the two ministers explored avenues to strengthen cooperation between their respective countries. Key topics included collaborative efforts in supporting and managing government investments, strategies to boost trade volume, and other areas pertinent to financial and economic affairs.


Representing Oman in these discussions were Nasser bin Khamis Al Jashmi, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance, and Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, the Head of the Follow-up Unit for the Implementation of Oman Vision 2040. On the Bahraini side, Hamad bin Faisal Al Malik, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Khaled bin Ibrahim Hameedan, the CEO of the Economic Development Board, were active participants. The meeting witnessed the presence of several officials from both nations, emphasizing the commitment to fostering stronger economic ties and collaboration. ( ONA)
