Muscat: Sultan's Armed Forces Museum (SAF) in Muttrah will be closed to visitors from December 17 until the completion of the maintenance work.

The Sultan's Armed Forces Museum is located at Bait Al Falaj Fort.

The museum accommodates weapons, clothing, instruments, and other defense systems that display both visually and audibly the development of the Omani armed forces throughout history.

SAF inaugurated in 1988 offers a view of f Oman's military history through its various stages, represented by the historic Bait Al Falaj Fort, which was built during the reign of Sayyid Said bin Sultan in 1845.

This Museum has an outside exhibition, which displays a lot of military types of equipment that had previously been used in the Sultan's Armed Forces, such as vehicles, tanks and aircraft, and ships.
