Aircraft movement at Muscat Airport is up 28%

Muscat: The number of passengers using the Muscat International Airport increased 32 percent to 1,015, 235 in October 2023 compared to the same period last year, according to the figures released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).


During the same period, aircraft movement at Muscat Airport increased by 28 percent to 8,827 in 2023 from 6,907 in 2022.


The freight movement at Muscat increased by 16 percent to 15,173 tonnes from 13,119 tonnes.

The number of passengers using Salalah Airport increased 47 percent to 89,518 in October 2023 compared to 60,766 during the same period last year.


During the same period, aircraft movement at Salalah increased by 4 percent to 1,020 in 2023 from 981 in 2022.


The freight movement increased by four percent to 56 tonnes from 59 tonnes.


The number of passengers using Sohar Airport dropped 32 percent to 1,389 in October 2023 compared to 2,029 passengers in the same period last year.


During the same period, aircraft movement at Sohar increased by 163 percent to 121 in 2023 from 46 in 2022.


The number of passengers using Duqm Airport increased 14 percent to 7,348 in June 2023 compared to 6, 467 passengers in the same period last year.


During the same period, aircraft movement remained static at 92.


The number of aircraft passing the Omani airspace increased by 15 percent from 40,015 to 34,799.
