Al Seeb defeat Al Salam to remain the top spot

Al Seeb spikers continued their top show in the Oman First Division Volleyball League 2023-24, as they registered a 3-1 ( 23/25, 25/19, 25/16 and 25/22) win over Al Salalm in a tight clash on Friday for the sixth round of the league, At the main hall of Suhar Sports Complex.


The triumph meant, Muscat based team led the league order with 18 points, while the opponents remained positioned in the second place with 15 points.


The hosts Al Salam players began the match strongly as they managed to earn the first set at 23/25. In the following set, Al Seeb spikers coached by Jamal al Mamari bounced back with better focus and equlaised by winning the second set at 25/19. Al Seeb players moved to the third set with more enthusiasm and grabbed the result of the third set with 25/16. In the deciding set, Al Seeb players confirmed their win at 25/22.


In other matches, Majees defeated Bahla 3-0 (25-9, 25-9, 25-16) at Nizwa Sports Complex while Al Bashaer captured a thrilling 3-0 win (25-19, 25-23, 25-22) from Suhar at the same venue.


Oman club stun Saham 3-2 (25-15, 25-20, 25-19, 25-21, 11-15) at Suhar Sports Complex


Al Seeb led the league order standing by 18 points in the first spot while Al Salam are placed second with 15 points and Al Bashaer in third place with 13 points. Majees and Oman are positioned in the fourth and fifth with 11 and 8 points respectively. Suhar in sixth place with five points and Saham in seventh with two points. Bahla at the bottom of the order with no points.


On the other hand, the league leaders, Al Seeb, will take on Oman club in the final clash of Super Cup that will be scheduled to take place on Monday at the main hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.


The match will kick off at 7:00 pm under auspices of HE Sayyed Salim bin Musallam bin Ali al Busaidi Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labour in presence of Eng.Ibrahim al Maqbali, chairman of Oman Volleyball Association (OVA).


In addition. OVA are gearing up to host the West Asian Volleyball Championship for clubs in February 2024 at Suhar Sports Complex.
