In an exhilarating display of skill and teamwork, Al Seeb emerged triumphant in a friendly match against Al Wehda Club on Wednesday evening at Al Seeb Sports Stadium, which witnessed an impressive 3-0 victory for the home team.
The goals that sealed Al Seeb's victory were scored by three talented players: Abdulaziz al Muqbali, Zaher al Aghbari and Hamad al Habsi. On the other hand, despite their valiant efforts, Al Wehda players were unable to convert their attacks into goals.
This friendly encounter marks Al Seeb's Club's first preparatory experience, guided by their Brazilian coach, Jorvan Vieira. The primary objective of the training camp is to fine-tune the players' skills and form a cohesive unit, preparing them for both domestic and Asian competitions.
As the new season approaches, Al Seeb Club is gearing up to compete fiercely for the league championships, the Sultan's Cup, and the Omani Federation Cup on the local front. Additionally, they are eagerly participating in the AFC Champions League, where they aim to make their mark on the international stage.
The team's upcoming challenge is set for August 15, where they will face off against the Uzbek "AGMK" team. Al Seeb's fervent fans are dreaming of a successful campaign in the tournament, particularly after their historic triumph as the holder of the AFC Cup in 2022, a remarkable achievement for Omani clubs.
Al Seeb Club had completed all matters related to participation in the AFC Champions League after obtaining the AFC licence. Most notably the existence of an approved programme for youth development, which includes medical care and written contracts for professional players, and the provision of an approved stadium for club competitions in the AFC.
In a strategic move, Al Seeb Club administration has chosen to host the team's matches at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, opting for this venue over the Al Seeb stadium as previously used in the AFC Cup. This decision aims to provide exceptional training facilities for youth programmes and cater to the needs of people with special requirements, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
