New York - The GCC states have reiterated their common position demanding an end to the brutal aggression staged by Israeli occupation forces against the Gaza Strip and rejecting the claim that this aggression constitutes self-defence.
This was stated during the UN General Assembly’s discussion of Item 35 titled “The Palestinian Issue”. The statement was delivered on behalf of the GCC states by Khalid Saleh al Rabkhi, Deputy to the Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman’s Delegation at the United Nations in New York.
The GCC states commended the Security Council’s Resolution 2712, issued on 15 November 2023, that calls for a mandatory ceasefire and supporting the General Assembly’s resolution dated 27 October 2023 that stipulated an immediate ceasefire and the supply of humanitarian aid (to the Gaza Strip).
The GCC states demand the immediate and unconditional implementation of those decisions. They categorically reject any efforts or plans for the forcible expulsion of Palestinians from their land.
