Diplomatic Charity Bazaar brings together talent

The Diplomatic Club of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is bustling today with activities and booths representing SMEs, outlets representing different countries by the respective embassies and representatives of the private sector.


The Diplomatic Club has organized the Diplomatic Charity Bazaar 2023, from 10 am to 10 pm was open to public bringing together the flavor of Oman with the international community through the participation of Embassies.



The objective of the Diplomatic Charity Bazaar is to support the number of initiatives of Al Rahma Association of Oman.


The charity bazaar includes an introductory corner which provided information on the different services of Al Rahma Association as well as locations of the centers in the country so that one could contribute toward the charity of mercy for the bereaved and the orphans.


There were hotels and eatery outlets participating in addition to home made products for example the specialized Mahu(sweet made of milk) with different ingredients such pistachios, frankincense, coconut etc.



Omani Women Association from Nakhal participated with handmade silver jewelry with designs for modern day usage.


“Our label is called sawr_sa and we are on social media, so no matter where you are in the world you can look at our collections and purchase them too. We have training sessions too for the members of the association,” said Sheikha al Namani, who supervises the jewelry designing section.


Yaqoub al Amri has the halwa stall that has been busy with sales and at the same time had been busy explaining to the visitors how he makes the halwa. His outlet is based in Seeb but he was excited participating with the Charity Bazaar.


Celebrating maritime heritage is Ahmed al Alawi, a boat builder from Sur, whose expertise in carpentry could be seen in his miniature dhows and doors. He has the map spread out in front of him and is happy to show the visitors the sea routes Omani sailors had ventured through.


Preserving heritage in a bottle is Farha al Kindy, an entrepreneur who has been an expert in Agriculture and Fisheries. Since five years she has been developing small scale industry in fisheries. Her small factory is based in Musannah.
