Online registration opens to avail childhood, elderly benefits

Muscat: The Social Protection Fund (SPF) has announced the opening of online registration on Saturday, to avail childhood and the elderly benefits, one of the two benefits of the social protection system.


Registration can be done at https://spf.gov.om


The total number of beneficiaries of the two benefits exceeds 1, 467,000 citizens, including 167,000 citizens in the category of elderly, while the number of beneficiaries (childhood benefit) is 1, 300,000.


The Social Protection Fund stated that registration for benefits for widows, orphans, people with disabilities, and family income will be opened at a later stage.


Article (31) of the Social Protection Law states that persons with disabilities are RO130 per month, if the person meets the following conditions:


1- He must be Omani.


2 - He must have a permanent disability or a permanent illness that requires care or support as specified in the regulations.


3 - He must be a resident of the Sultanate of Oman in accordance with the provisions of Article (8) of this law.


Article 30


The elderly benefit is payable at the rate of RO115 per month if the person fulfills the following conditions:


1- He must be Omani.


2- He must reach the age of the elderly.


3 - He must be a resident of the Sultanate of Oman in accordance with the provisions of Article (8) of this law.


Article 37


The childhood benefit is payable at the rate of RO10 per month for each child if the following conditions are met:


1- The child must be Omani.


2 - The child must not have reached 18 eighteen years of age.


3 - He must be a resident of the Sultanate of Oman, in accordance with the provisions of Article (8) of this law.


The regulations specify the controls for disbursing the childhood benefit.
