Muscat: The Food Safety & Quality Center (FSQC) has clarified that all imported food products are thoroughly monitored, and inspected via laboratory analysis of consignments to ensure their safety and compliance with regulations and standard specifications.

Products that do not conform to safety standards are rejected and not allowed for sale in local markets.

The centre was responding to reports about the presence of imported food products that do not conform to standard specifications (non-halal) in the Sultanate.
