Executive office of AAF discuss the forthcoming events in Muscat

Muscat city hosted the Executive office meeting of Arabian Aquatics Federation (AAF) on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by Taha bin Suleiman al Kishri, Chairman of Arabian and Oman Aquatics Federation in presence of Yousef bin Ahmed al Saai, the honourable Chairman of the federation and the board members.


The meeting featured different topics including the revision on the submitted report of the 6th edition of Arabian Senior Swimming Championship which was held in Abu Dhabi during October 27 to 30.


The UAE event featured participation of more than 75 swimmers representing 16 countries namely: Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Qatar, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Yemen and the hosts UAE.


The executive office members reviewed the amendments made to the comments received from FINA, the international governing body of swimming and they were approved the final draft to be presented during the forthcoming meeting of the General Assembly for final approval.


The meeting addressed also the latest ongoing preparations towards hosting the Second Arabian Water Games Championship for junior categories which is scheduled to be in Doha during January 10 to 15, which will include six aquatics sports namely: swimming, artistic swimming, diving, water polo, open water swimming, and high diving. The competitions will be held in three main venues including: Aspire, Hamad Aquatic Center, and Doha Port.


The organising committee distributed the invitation to all the Arabian countries to participate in the tournament which is considered an opportunity for the hosts to gear up ahead of Doha hosts for the 21st World Aquatics Championships which will be held in February 2024.
