The Omani Swimmers Issa al Adawi and Abdulrahman al Kulaibi will participate in the 2023 World Aquatics Championships (WAC), which will be held in Fukuoka, Japan, during July 14-30.
The 20th edition of the World Aquatics Championships, originally scheduled to be held in 2021, were postponed until May 2022 in response to the rescheduling of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The event was pushed back a second time to 2023 due to ongoing travel restrictions and safety measures in place in Japan. Budapest hosted the 19th Championships from June 18 to July 3, 2022. Fukuoka hosts this meet in second time, 22 years after the 2001 World Aquatics Championships.
