MUSCAT: Omani broadcaster and media personality Rahma bint Hussain al Issa passed away after battling with illness, on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Information mourned the death of the Omani TV and radio presenter who won the hearts of successive generations with her delicate way of presenting news and TV shows. She is one of the leading Omani women presenters who worked for Oman TV since its inception.
She presented kids TV shows but her name was linked to other programmes such as the family programmes.
The late broadcaster played a prominent role in enhancing the presence of Omani women in the media field and shed light on women’s ability to work alongside men at the beginning of the Omani renaissance. She also played a major role in the development of media in the Sultanate of Oman by presenting news bulletins and various TV shows for over five decades during which she won the respect of all.
