Located in the heart of the commercial district of Hambar in Suhar, the Women’s Market is a visionary project aimed at fostering a conducive environment for business owners, consumers, and market visitors. The market comprises an enclosed hall housing 26 shops, each spanning eight square metres, while also offering amenities such as a prayer room, public services, and storage facilities. Its design is a harmonious blend of traditional Omani architecture with a modern, contemporary twist, a construction feat that was achieved in a remarkable 16-month timeline.
The opening ceremony will feature an illuminating presentation emphasising the profound respect for Omani women and their encouragement to actively participate in the workforce, thus further propelling Oman’s development. A visual exhibit will vividly illustrate the historical and current status of Omani women in both the traditional Suhar market and the newly developed Women’s Market.
