Muscat: Nama Water Services on Sunday said water supply across Al Dakhiliyah governorate was affected due to a technical issue at the main pumping station.

“We would like to inform that there was a sudden stop at the main pumping station of Al Dakhiliyah Governorate as a result of a power outage due to an emergency technical failure. Due to this, shortage of water supply might occur in some areas of the governorate for the next 24 hours,” a statement from the company said.

The company said they have emergency plans activated by operating backup wells and providing billed tanker service. Those affected by the shortage of water supplies can contact the call center at 1442.

The agency also requested subscribers in this area to rationalize water consumption.
