Muscat: In a significant milestone reflecting its unwavering commitment to sustainability and the principles of the circular economy, the Omani Environmental Services Holding Company, "be’ah," has officially concluded its groundbreaking "be’ahTec" program.

This initiative, conducted in collaboration with Engineering Village, took place at the prestigious W Hotel in Muscat and aimed to foster innovation while honing the skills of Omani youth in deploying Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to develop sustainable solutions.

The "be’ahTec" program was a visionary endeavor designed to enhance the proficiency of young individuals and empower them to devise sustainable solutions for efficient resource management. The program achieved this by conducting a series of interactive workshops meticulously crafted to stimulate creative thinking and inspire the development of innovative projects among the participants.

The program kicked off with a series of workshops where participants were introduced to the program's overarching objectives and the formidable challenges it sought to address. These workshops were held across 12 carefully selected colleges and universities, representing various governorates of the Sultanate.

Out of an impressive pool of 149 teams that passionately submitted their ideas through the "be’ahTec" website during the initial phase, the program meticulously selected three standout teams: "Scanner," "Emata," and "Quick." These teams are at the forefront of finding innovative technical solutions to the pressing issue of waste classification and characterization, and they are doing so with remarkable efficiency and cost-effectiveness through the creation of an integrated AI system.

Abdulrahman Al-Jahadhmi, a dedicated participant in the program, shared his journey, stating, "After an intensive three-month period filled with rigorous thinking, meticulous planning, exhaustive research, and active participation in training workshops led by field specialists, we have successfully crafted a real-world solution. We are fully committed to overseeing its implementation with precision and accuracy."

Al-Jahadhmi and his team are among the top three teams that have emerged from the "be’ahTec" program, and they are poised to revolutionize waste management by utilizing cutting-edge AI technologies.

One of the hallmarks of the program is the acquisition of invaluable skills by participants, including teamwork, problem-solving, and artificial intelligence programming. These competencies, coupled with a deeper understanding of sustainability and circular economy concepts, have equipped these young innovators to contribute significantly to the broader environmental and economic challenges of our time.

The "be’ahTec" program, launched in 2022, serves as a beacon of hope and progress in Oman's quest for sustainability. By nurturing the next generation of environmentally conscious leaders and entrepreneurs, it paves the way for a more sustainable and innovative future for the Sultanate and the world at large. This program underscores Oman's dedication to promoting innovation and the practical application of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to tackle sustainability challenges head-on.
