14 teams to take part in women's volleyball tourney

MUSCAT: Fourteen teams will take part in the women's volleyball tournament to be organised by the Expatriate Volleyball Association headed by Khalil al Balushi in association with Oman Volleyball Association at Al Amal Sports Complex in Ghala on September 29.


The teams are divided into four groups. Group A includes Blitz, Muscat Strikers, Famous Thai and Phil Oman. Group B consists Mixer, Vollydigger and Eagle. Group C features Exotic, Ball Hammer and Muscat Blazers while Group D includes Asian MCG, No name, Foxhard and Slashers teams.


Aisha al Jabri, member of board of directors of the Oman Volleyball Association and head of the Women's Volleyball Committee, will be the guest of honour on the occasion. The one-day tournament will kick off with at the Al Amal volleyball facility in Ghala at 9 am.


"The tournament will see players from different nationalities like Italy, USA, Philippines, Iran, Ukraine, Thailand, Tunisia, Austria, Brazil and Oman," chief organiser Khalil al Balushi said.
