Oman, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, will host the 7th Meeting of Their Excellencies the Ministers and Their Excellencies the Heads of Tourism Authorities of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting is scheduled to take place from October 4th to 5th, 2023, in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, in the Wilayat of Manah, at the Oman Through the Ages Museum.

This meeting is part of Oman's presidency of the current session of the Gulf Cooperation Council and aims to further enhance integration among the member countries in the tourism sector. Discussions during the meetings will cover various issues related to the development of the travel and tourism sector in the region and raising awareness of its importance as an economic development driver and a means of cultural exchange.

The hosting of this event will also include numerous activities, visits, and tourism experiences organized for the participating delegations to showcase Oman's unique tourism attractions, cultural richness, natural beauty, historical heritage, and various tourist sites. These are being leveraged through ongoing development projects and diverse tourism sector initiatives.

It's worth mentioning that the meetings will be held in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, specifically at the Oman Through the Ages Museum in the Wilayat of Manah. This choice highlights the museum's significance as an iconic cultural and tourist landmark that embodies Oman's unique tourism assets and diverse experiences, reflecting the country's rich history throughout different eras. Oman is actively working to develop its tourism sector in alignment with the clear vision outlined in "Vision Oman 2040." This vision aligns with similar national plans of fellow member countries in the GCC and is complemented by the Gulf Tourism Strategy, adopted in 2022 and beginning implementation in 2023, through a set of ambitious executive initiatives.
