Motor aficionados and those who love the roaring machines and drifting cars are eagerly looking forward to October 5 as Qatar is hosting the prestigious Geneva International Motor Show (Gims), for the first time ever, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre, an iconic motorsports event to be held in the GCC.

More than a traditional car show, the inaugural Gims Qatar, the only motor show held with a Formula 1 Grand Prix, is an automotive festival that builds on the Geneva International Motor Show’s heritage of excellence by unleashing the innovative capabilities of Qatar. This will equally be an exciting festival celebrating car culture and excellence in and around the city of Doha in particular and the GCC in general.

“Well, words are not sufficient to express how I feel about attending the Gims in Doha as we, seven youths crazy for car racing, are attending the mega event. More than attending, it is all about feeling the real machine roar and smoke and the atmosphere,” Sultan al Araimi, a motorsports fan told the Observer.

Underlining what Sultan has said, the organisers are quite confident that the visitors and exhibitors can look forward to an unprecedented showcase of luxury, sports, exotics and classics. By now, the mega event has already garnered a name for itself as a show where you take the wheel, thanks to extended test drives, high-speed circuits, and automotive activities in the desert and beyond.

Additionally, there will be a state-of-the-art exhibition space of the DECC in downtown West Bay in Doha, alongside the world’s most sought-after cars.

For those who like to see cars really pushed to the limit, the Arab country will be hosting the pinnacle of global motorsport the Formula 1 Grand Prix on the first weekend of the festival at the all-new iconic Lusail International Circuit, 20 km north of Doha. With the opportunity to host guests from the region as well as from other countries of the globe at the circuit, the excitement levels could soar over the 220-mph mark.

Sealine desert and off-road adventure will allow the visitors to take the road less travelled by hosting their own desert camp, where they will be able to challenge the dunes or cruise with views over the ocean.

Hosted by a pioneering and committed nation with a genuine passion for the car, Gims Qatar 2023 is set to deliver a spectacular festival experience showcasing the best of automotive, thanks to the partners, who have proven to deliver best-in-class experiences across travel, hospitality, motorsports and culture, and is a promise that the visitors will be in safe hands as they navigate the future of automotive.
