Dhofar: The number of visitors to Khareef Dhofar season (monsoon) since the beginning of the season till August 31, 2023 reached 924,127 visitors, up by 17% compared to the corresponding period in 2022 when the number stood at 792,980, according to the data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The data indicate that the number of Omani visitors increased by 16.4% to reach 656,119. GCC visitors reached 156,953 compared to 134,309 during the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, visitors from other nationalities stood at 111,055, constituting a rise when compared to 95,017 visitors in the previous year.
As many as 714,520 visitors arrived to the Governorate of Dhofar through land port, while 209,607 visitors arrived through air flights, which comprised a rise by 36% to the number of arrivals through air flights during the corresponding period in 2022.
Moreover, 57% of Dhofar Khareef season’s visitors arrived during the month of August.
