In the heart of the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate lies a precious repository of Oman's rich heritage - Izki. This historic town is witness to the emergence of numerous esteemed figures in Omani history, serving as a beacon of cultural and social significance. Izki, steeped in tradition and history, holds a treasure trove of documents that offer glimpses into the beliefs and virtues of its people.

Izki has been and will continue to be, a pivotal player in shaping Oman's historical narrative and future trajectory. With this in mind, the Izki Across Ages Symposium seeks to illuminate the historical importance of Izki and harness it as a guiding star for a prosperous future.

The event is intended for history scholars, students, youth, and anyone interested in delving into the annals of history and culture.

Collaboration between the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, Izki Governor's Office, Izki Cultural Center, and Izki Club has been instrumental in ensuring the symposium's success. These entities share a common objective - to orchestrate an exemplary symposium that vividly portrays Izki's civilized and cultural heritage while recognizing the dedicated efforts of local scholars and researchers.

The ppers include, Geography of Izki by Dr Badriya al Amari; Izki in Ancient Times by Nail Hanon; Izki’s Historical and Political Stature by Dr Ismail al Agbari; Izki from 1624 to 1749 by Ahmed A’Tobi; Izki’s Political Evolution from 1920 to 1960 by Salim A’Nbhani; Izki’s Role in Achieving the Oman Vision 2040 by Rahma al Azri; Tourist Attractions and Historical Monuments in Izki by Dr Masoud al Hadhrami; and Economic Conditions in Izki Across Ages by Dr Hameed A’Nofli.

Furthermore, the symposium will shine a spotlight on the material culture of Izki, including its castles, fortresses, ‘afla’ (traditional water systems), and ancient villages. In addition to these architectural treasures, the event will showcase various traditional arts, customs, and traditions, offering a comprehensive immersion into Izki's vibrant cultural tapestry.
