Agreement signed for 'SHE STEMS' programme

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, on Monday signed a cooperation agreement with Oman Cables Industry to launch the second edition of the 'SHE STEMS' programme for community development.


The agreement provides for developing the practical skills of 20 Omani female trainees to qualify them to undertake positions in the manufacturing, science, technology, engineering and mathematics sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.


The agreement was signed by Dr Rahma Ibrahim al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, and Cinzia Farisè, CEO of Oman Cable Industry.


'SHE STEMS' programme constitutes part of efforts made by Oman Cables Industry to develop local female talents to help achieve a sustainable future for Oman. It is a programme dedicated to female jobseekers. - ONA
