MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) to benefit from the university’s engineering expertise in modern construction systems.

The MoU was signed by HH Sayyid Dr Fahd bin Al Julanda al Said, Vice Chairman of SQU, and Ahmed bin Mohammed al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality.

The SQU will provide technical consultancy, examine existing building materials and systems and help devise basic methods for supporting Muscat Municipality’s efforts in endorsing modern building materials and systems.

The MoU enables the two sides to consolidate partnership, exchange knowledge and expand cooperation in the fields of research and advisory. In addition, it will set out norms for implementing approved testing methodologies.

As per the MoU, the SQU's College of Engineering will provide Muscat Municipality with services that include technical support and advanced facilities. - ONA
