Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in Dhofar has seized a number of coconut shops in the wilayat of Salalah that refrain from providing the service and hide the price lists authorized and approved by the administration before the Khareef season.

They also hike the prices of coconut products, which have high demand during the peak tourism season.

CPA said it is monitoring activities at various markets and commercial centers in the governorate, with the aim of maintaining price stability and ensuring that suppliers comply with the Consumer Protection Law and its regulations.

The authority has booked 15 people representing different stores for various types of violations.

Violators were arrested and released following legal measures.
