MANAH: Oman Across Ages Museum in the Wilayat of Manah celebrated the anniversary of laying the museum's foundation stone in the presence of Her Highness Sayyida Mayan bint Shihab al Said. Eng Al Yaqthan bin Abdullah al Harthi, Director-General of Oman Across Age Museum, and media professionals attended the occasion.
During the celebration, the documentary film 'An Everlasting Foundation' was shown, which reviews the story of the museum's establishment and the roles it went through.
Eng Al Yaqthan who spoke on the occasion said, “Today, the Oman Across Age Museum celebrates an everlasting memory in our minds, the memory of laying the foundation stone for this architectural edifice. Let us go back in history, specifically to the last ten days of Ramadhan in 1436 AH. This was on July 14, 2015 when the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said laid the foundation stone for this museum. Today we tell the story of its construction, representing an icon of modern architecture in the Sultanate of Oman."
This wonderful design was the result of an architectural competition around the world, and it was adopted by His Majesty. It received his attention and care to preserve Omani history.
"The aim was to highlight Omani youth's skills in various fields. Until we reach this achievement, the museum was inaugurated this year under the auspices of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik stressing the importance of looking forward to Oman's future that meets the aspirations of every Omani," he added.
The museum director thanked "Acacia" media production company, led by the director, Malek al Maslamani, the company's staff, and all those who contributed to this wonderful artistic production.
Her Highness later launched the documentary film 'An Everlasting Foundation,' which reviewed the most significant stages of the museum's establishment, starting with the design stages, site selection, working committees and design symbolism. The documentary film will be available for viewing during specific times in the museum.
