Planning a Visit? Here's What You Need to Know:
Opening Hours: On Fridays, the museum welcomes visitors from 9.00am to 9.00pm at its main gate, Knowledge Centre, and Museum facilities. The galleries, where the museum truly comes to life, are open from 1.30pm to 7.00pm. It's important to note that the last entry is permitted up until half an hour before closing time, ensuring ample opportunity to delve into the exhibits.
Ticket Pricing: To access the galleries, Omani citizens and GCC citizens are required to pay a fee of RO 1, while residents are charged RO 2. Tourists are requested to purchase tickets at a price of RO 5. However, certain groups enjoy free entry, including senior individuals aged 60 and above, children under 6 years old, and students aged 25 and under (with valid student ID).
Additionally, special considerations are made for Friends of Oman Museums, staff of public and private museums in the Sultanate of Oman, staff of public and private museums in the Sultanate, members of ICOM, ICOMOS, and UNESCO, individuals with special needs (with free entry for one accompanying person), authorized guides from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, low-income families, and teachers accompanying student groups on organized visits.
