Oman exports 128 million oil barrels until end-May

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman has exported a total of 128.070 million barrels of oil until end of May 2023. Oil exports accounted for 80 per cent of the total oil production in Oman, reaching 160.144 million oil barrels until end-May.


The preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the total production of crude oil increased by 0.7 per cent, to reach 125.757 million barrels while the total production of oil condensate increased by 5.6 per cent, recording 34.386 million.


The average daily production of oil is 1.060 million barrels until end of May 2023.


China topped the oil-importing countries from the Sultanate of Oman, with total exports of 117,120,500 barrels, followed by Japan with 4,783,500 barrels, then India with 2,716,200 barrels, while exports to other countries reached to 3,450,000 barrels.


On the other hand, the total domestic production and import of natural gas reached to 21,833,100,000 cubic metres until end May 2023, an increase of 3.9 per cent compared to the same period in 2022, with 214,900,000 cubic metres.


The statistics showed that industrial projects accounted for 60.2 per cent of the uses of natural gas in the Sultanate of Oman until end May 2023, as uses for industrial projects amounted to 13,163,100,000 cubic metres.


The total use of natural gas for: oil fields 5,580,500,000 cubic metres, power plants 2,977,700,000 cubic metres, and industrial areas 111,800,000 cubic metres. The non-associated production of natural gas, including import, amounted to 17,469,900,000 cubic metres, while the associated production amounted to 4,363,100,000 cubic metres. — ONA
