MUSCAT: Embarking on an epic 10-nation adventure, the renowned National Geographic Expedition Private Jet touched down in Oman, captivating travelers on its Europe, Arabian Gulf, and Asia itinerary.


For three extraordinary days from June 24, 62 esteemed guests reveled in Oman’s cultural splendours, astounded by the genuine Omani hospitality they encountered.


The expedition was part of Nat Geo’s Europe, Arabian Gulf, and Asia itinerary, which used a Boeing 757 throughout the journey.


The guests began their journey from London, United Kingdom, on June 7 and they flew to Berlin, Budapest, Tbilisi, Samarkand, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Oman, and Egypt, and returned back to London on June 30.


Arun Raj, Vice President of Zahara Tours, expressed his profound honour and privilege in managing the esteemed visit of the prestigious National Geographic Private Jet.


He shared that the 62 guests, the majority of whom were Americans except for two Canadians and a UK national onboard were deeply impressed by the rich cultural heritage of Oman.


They left amazed by the genuine Omani hospitality they encountered during their stay. Arun further emphasised Zahara’s immense pride in their partnership with the National Geographic Society and eagerly anticipates welcoming more expeditions in the future.



With the luxurious Shangri-La Al Husn as their base, the journey unfolded aboard a Boeing 757, offering unparalleled flexibility and a superior travel experience.


Guided by Zahara Tours, the prestigious expedition took the guests on a captivating journey through Muscat’s iconic landmarks, from the majestic Grand Mosque to the exquisite Royal Opera House Muscat and the enlightening National Museum of Oman.


The adventure continued to the awe-inspiring Nizwa Fort, where guests immersed themselves in the art of pottery-making alongside local Omani artisans.


Weaving traditions came to life as encounters with skilled local weavers displayed the intricacies of Omani textiles. Warmly welcomed by Omani children in traditional attire, the guests gained a glimpse into the vibrant cultural fabric of Oman.


A culinary feast awaited within the fort’s walls, where the guests savored traditional Omani dishes prepared by local villagers.


Departing with treasured souvenirs and an enduring connection to Oman’s rich heritage, the travelers carried the memories of their extraordinary experience aboard the National Geographic Expedition Jet.


Travelers should be in good health, comfortable with stairs, and prepared for extended periods of walking, standing, and engaging in multiple hours of activity on certain days.
