Oman at Beirut Water Resources Committee meet

BEIRUT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources on Monday took part in the 15th meeting of the Water Resources Committee. The meeting is being held by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) from June 18-22 in Beirut.


Oman’s delegation was represented in the meeting by Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saidi, Oman’s Ambassador to Lebanon. The meeting discussed the progress made in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) in relation to water in the Arab region. It also reviewed various activities pertaining to water issues since the last meeting. It discussed topics on improving groundwater management by using innovative tools and explored means of financing water sector. - ONA
