The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning will organise a 3-day media dialogue and accompanying activities on the Sultan Haitham City, at the Royal Opera House Muscat, starting this Tuesday, June 20.


The first day activity will include a media dialogue, an exhibition about the Sultan Haitham City and the signing of development and partnership agreements with local and regional developers and institutions for the first phase of the Sultan Haitham City.


The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning intends to hold an investment and development forum under the title ‘Seize Life Opportunities’ on Wednesday to discuss investment in real estate and cities.


The Sultan Haitham City will occupy 14.8 million sq metres and it will have sustainable urban planning that focuses on the exploitation of green areas with 2.9 million sq metres.


The city will accommodate 100,000 people in 20,000 residential units that include independent villas, semi-attached villas, townhouses and flats.


On Thursday, there will be a youth forum titled ‘Where Dreams Bloom’ to introduce young people to the Sultan Haitham City which is designed to be an architectural icon and a gift from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the next generations and all society segments.


The Sultan Haitham City is the outcome of the comprehensive transformation journey adopted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to achieve sustainable urban development for prosperous communities through the implementation of national strategic projects for urban development in line with Oman Vision 2040.


The city will have a special significance being the building block for upcoming projects and a new model for sustainable cities in the Sultanate of Oman.
