Muscat: Fahud reached a whopping 49 degrees Celsius with Suniyneh and Ibri topping over 48, while zamaim , Muqshin, Saham and Haima ranged around 47 degrees Celsius.

Oman Met Office stated that the desert and mountainous areas and parts of the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman witnessed a noticeable rise in the maximum temperatures, ranging between the middle and end of the forties yesterday, the highest in Fahud was 49 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, a high-resolution animation from satellites showed the movement of the Tropical Cyclone, Biparjoy northward towards the Indian and Pakistani coasts. This also had continued flow of high and medium clouds over the Sultanate of Oman.

The Met Office also alerted on high sea waves.

That have been defined as rough waves on the coasts of the Sultanate of Oman, with chances of sea water extending to the low coastal areas in the Sea of Oman and parts of the Arabian Sea as a result of the increasing waves and this could remain so for the next three days.

The National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center has requested the public to follow precautionary measures to avoid the dangers of the sea during its rampage. They have advised to postpone tourism tours and trips as well as any marine activity until the sea conditions improve as the wave height can cause small boats to capsize. They have also urged to follow up on the weather and specifically sea conditions before venturing out.
