More female jobseekers in Oman: NCSI

Muscat: The number of job seekers decreased by 3.6 percent in the Sultanate of Oman at the end of April, compared to March.


The rate of female job seekers was 12.1%, while the percentage of males was 1.6%, according to data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).


The age group between 15-24 years is the largest group looking for work at a rate of 13.8 percent, followed by the group between 25-29 years at a rate of 6.9 percent.


Bachelor’s Degree holders represent the highest category of job seekers in terms of academic qualifications at a rate of 10.7 percent, followed by higher education diploma holders at a rate of 8.9 percent, and a general education diploma and its equivalent at 5.8 percent.
