Muscat: Following several inspection campaigns held between May 28 and June 3, the Ministry of Labour (MoL) on Monday could arrest 205 workforce for violating the provisions of the Labour Law. Of which, 141 were absconding workers.

The ministry said legal procedures will be taken against them.

A total of 263 workers were deported during the same period.

This step, carried out by the Directorate-General of Workers Welfare (the joint inspection team), came as part of the ministry’s keenness to follow up on non-Omani workers commitment to the Labour Law.
