Muscat: The Ministry of Labour arrested 179 workers for violating the provisions of the Labour Law during an intensive inspection campaign conducted between May 21-27 in Muscat Governorate.
The campaign, carried out by the Directorate-General of Workers Welfare (the joint inspection team), aimed to follow up on non-Oman workers to ensure their commitment to the Labour Law. Of that total, there were 81 absconding workers. Another 245 workers were deported during the same period.
