PARIS: The strategic dialogue session was held at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital, Paris, on Thursday, between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman and the French Republic.

It dealt with the relations between the two friendly countries, ways to develop bilateral cooperation, economic and investment partnership, and the promotion of cultural and scientific exchange for broader and more comprehensive horizons. The Omani side was chaired by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, and the French side was headed by Anne-Marie Descots, Secretary General of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

The two sides exchanged views on a number of current regional and international issues of common concern and emphasised the importance of supporting all peaceful efforts in a way that strengthens the pillars of peace and stability.

On the sidelines of the strategic dialogue session between the two countries, the Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs met with Patrick Dorrell, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the French Republic for North Africa and the Middle East. – ONA
