Oman, Luxembourg hold political talks session

Muscat: Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister held a session of political talks with Jean Asselborn, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, who is currently on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.


During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the march of bilateral relations. They also discussed means of enhancing cooperation, exchanging expertise and striking further agreements and memoranda of understanding during the coming period in the fields of economy, renewable energy and avoidance of double taxation, as well as aviation, banking, finance, science and culture.


The two sides touched on several regional and international matters of mutual interest. They underscored the importance of tackling issues and challenges on the basis of justice and respect for the international law, through peaceful means and dialogue.


Sayyid Badr lauded the role of Luxembourg in the European Union. He also affirmed the keenness of the Sultanate of Oman to continue developing bilateral relations in all fields.


Sayyid Badr reiterated the importance of exchanging views on various matters of mutual concern.


On his turn, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg praised Oman’s role in the region. He also expressed the keenness of his country to boost cooperation in various fields.


The meeting was attended by Khalid Hashel al Muselhi, Head of the Minister’s Office Department, Munthir Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Head of Europe’s Department and several officials from both sides.
