Competitions under way in schools basketball league

MUSCAT, May 15


The international and private schools league for basketball is under way with participation of six teams from boys and six teams from girls. The tournament is under organisation of Oman Schools Sports Association (OSSA) in cooperation with Azan Bin Qais School (Madinat Sultan Qaboos branch) which hosted the tournament matches.


The semifinals matches will begin on Tuesday and the winner will advance to the final match that is scheduled on Wednesday under auspices of Al Zubair Mohammed Al Zubair in Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.


The tournament began on Sunday and will run for three days. As many as six teams from boys schools and another six teams from girls are taking part in the under way tournament. The list of participated schools are: International School of Choueifat, Ahmed bin Majid School, Al Shomoukh International School, Seeb International School, Azan Bin Qais School, Madarsty School, Indian School Muscat, French School, Seeb International School and Ahmed Bin Majid Private School.


The schools league is a suitable event to discover for the potential candidates in basketball to join the junior national teams.
