Number of service projects under way in Al Dakhiliyah

NIZWA: A number of service projects are currently under implementation in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate as part of the governorate's development programme and the balanced development which aim to achieve several development objectives and fundamentals that meet the needs of individuals and keep pace with the commercial, tourism and entertaining activities in cooperation with the public sector.


Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, said that the upcoming period will see the signing of 55 agreements for the execution of development, services and restoration projects to the tune of RO 18 million. The projects vary between constructions of internal roads, car parks at tourist sites, road lighting, improving service and beautification facilities, improvement and construction of markets and public parks and slaughterhouses. The aim of these projects is to enhance services in the wilayats, creating job opportunities and supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and stimulating the economy.


Internal road projects were completed in the wilayats of Izki, Samayil and Manah. Work is under way to repair roads affected by heavy rains and wadis in the wilayats of Nizwa and Al Hamra. In addition, work is under way on the municipal council’s abattoir in Nizwa. The work includes paving 700 metres and 4,000 sq metre car parks the implementation of which is currently at 90 per cent. Other projects include construction of 10,000 sq metre car parks at Nizwa Souq.
