SMEDA, OCCI partner to help small businesses thrive

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) have partnered to help small businesses in Oman thrive. The partnership will focus on providing SMEs with access to financing, training, and market opportunities.


The partnership was announced at a workshop held in Muscat on May 15, 2023. The workshop was attended by representatives from SMEDA, OCCI, and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion.

Shaikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OCCI, commented: "This partnership is a major step forward for the SME sector in Oman. By working together, SMEDA and OCCI can provide SMEs with the support they need to grow and succeed."

• Training: SMEDA and OCCI will work together to develop training programs for SMEs in a variety of areas, such as business management, marketing, and finance.


• Market opportunities: SMEDA and OCCI will work together to connect SMEs with potential customers and partners.


The partnership between SMEDA and OCCI is a positive development for the SME sector in Oman. It will provide SMEs with the resources they need to grow and succeed. Moreover, the partnership is also aligned with the government's vision to make Oman a knowledge-based economy.
