Muscat: The Training Centre of the Ministry of Information has unveiled its programmes for the rest of this year. The programmes form part of the centre’s approach to set annual plans for developing the resources of employees, media-related professionals, journalists, engineers and technicians in government and private institutions.

The programmes seek to groom the skills of the media personnel and improve their performance in a manner that achieves sustainable career development. This will reflect positively on the amelioration of media products in all forms—readable, audio, visual and electronic.

Asya Yousef al Balushi, Acting Director General of the Media Training Centre, pointed out that the Ministry takes keen interest in upgrading all its systems and that the Media Training Centre shoulders the responsibility of supervising the implementation of the relevant programmes. These, she said, include updating the news system (EVS), which will be introduced next month (May 2023).

She added that the Media Training Centre targets media personnel at different government and private institutions, as well as students studying media in higher education institutions.
