MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has addressed a message of greetings to citizens, residents in Oman’s land, and the Islamic nation on the occasion of Eid al Fitr.
This was conveyed through a statement of the Diwan of Royal Court reading as follows: “As Muslims in different parts of the globe celebrated the consummation of fasting of the blessed month of Ramadhan, after the Almighty Allah bestowed upon them the virtues of fasting, prayers, and blessings over the month’s days and nights, and, upon the advent of the happy Eid al Fitr for this year 1444 AH, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has addressed congratulations to Omani citizens, residents in Oman’s land the entire Islamic nation on this happy occasion.
“As he addresses these greetings, His Majesty the Sultan prayed to the Almighty Allah for many happy comebacks of this blessed occasion and similar occasions, so that all would enjoy happiness, prosperity, and innumerable bounties and blessings.
“May Allah protect His Majesty the Sultan, endow him with plentiful blessings, and may the Almighty preserve His Majesty as a symbol of pride for dear Oman and its noble people! Happy Eid to all.”
Meanwhile, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received greetings from officials in the Sultanate of Oman on the advent of Eid al Fitr 1444 AH.
The well-wishers expressed their sincere greetings and best wishes of good health and happiness to His Majesty the Sultan. They prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect His Majesty and grant him long life and for the return of a happy occasion at a time His Majesty relishes blessings and welfare and the Oman people realise further aspirations under His Majesty’s wise leadership.
His Majesty received greetings from HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen Sultan bin Mohammed al Numani, Minister of the Royal Office, Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, and Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Ash’shura, Lt Gen Hasan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, and Lt Gen Said bin Ali al Hilali, Head of Internal Security Service.
The Sultanate of Oman will today celebrate the first day of Eid al Fitr, after fasting the blessed month of Ramadhan, the month of mercy and forgiveness.
The celebrations of Eid al Fitr in Oman show the customs, traditions, and cultural and religious values.
After the citizens and residents perform the Eid prayers, they exchange greetings, blessings, and civil visits, in addition to carrying out a range of social and cultural activities. The presence of Omani food is part of the manifestations of Eid celebrations, such as Omani sweets and harees. — ONA
